Existing buildings on the site include a Grade 2 Victorian engine shed (the longest remaining in the UK) and various other listed buildings. The proposed redevelopment scheme currently envisages the development of around 600 houses and apartments with neighbourhood retail and leisure provision including a doctors surgery and pharmacy.
